Nissan
1991 Nissan Trucks - No Start
1991 Nissan Trucks (Bosch p/n AL2345X) may be found to have repeated instances of discharged batteries, no alternator output, resulting in no start conditions. Before replacing the alternator, check the "Y" wire at Diode 59E. Many of these vehicles were built with the wire tie for the wiring harness attached to the wire and not the diode. Constant vibrations cause damage to the "Y" wire. Damaged wires in the "L" circuit prevent the alternator from charging at less than 3,600 RPM. To remedy this situation, repair any damaged wires and properly secure the diode to the engine harness connector.
