1992 Mitsubishi 3000 GT - No Start

Next time you're totally baffled trying to figure out why you can't get a 1992 Mitsubishi 3000 GT to start (SR4159X), check the condition of the A-67 connector.

The A-67 connector can be found behind the right side head light and next to the main relay junction box.  It is a 12-pin connector which is subject to corrosion between the black/white wire and the red/blue wires.

To get this GT going again, Mitsubishi says that you'll have to obtain a quality weather-sealed, two-pin connector (not from Mitsubishi) and cut the two corroded wires.  The corroded wires should be jumpered around the A-67 connector with the new two-pin connector.

All connections should be soldered and insulated.  The two corroded cavities in the A-67 connector should be cleaned with a "point type" cleaner and the two cut wire ends should be sealed with a silicone sealant and electrician's tape to prevent the spread of corrosion to other terminals in the plug.
