1993-95 Mazda 626 - Continually Discharged Battery
Before installing a replacement alternator on 1993-95 Mazda 626s (Bosch p/n AL4211X and AL4212X) to cure a continually discharged battery, check the trunk light switch! If the switch is not properly seated in its bracket, a loose switch may hang down and keep the trunk light on continuously. Simply place the switch firmly back into its bracket and it should click into place. To check this repair, close the trunk, go in the car with the doors closed, fold down the rear seat, and look in the trunk to make sure the light is off.
