1991-1992 Sonata - Discharged Battery

1991-1992 Hyundai Sonatas (AL4010X) may experience a condition where the battery is continually discharged. Before suspecting the alternator, inspect the condition of the in-line diode "A" leading to the radiator fan motor relay 2. If this diode becomes corroded it can become conducting during humid weather causing the cooling fan to run continuously, thus discharging the battery. After inspecting and cleaning the "A" diode, be sure to weatherproof this diode to prevent future problems.
