Clutch Assembly Replacement

Hyundai Excel 1986-1994

When replacing a clutch assembly on a vehicle equipped with a separate pivot shaft and release fork, be sure to examine the pin that holds these two items in alignment. This pin can fracture. Often the increased pressure needed to release a new clutch can break this pin. If the pin breaks, the clutch will not work. This problem is often seen on the Hyundai Excel.

Parts Information:  When fitting BWC part #061-9029 for 1986-89 Hyundai Excels or BWC part #061-9028 for 1990-94 Hyundai Excels, it's a good idea to just replace the pin. At a cost of less than $1.50 list, it's cheap insurance.
